dc.description.abstract The age of today is defined by the integration of social media into the various aspects of our lives. Its usage in international politics has now become a regular occurrence. Social media is employed in a variety of manners in the context of international politics. For instance, it allows everyone to have a participatory role in politics. This thesis addresses the question that how and why social media is used by the state and non-state actors against each other in international politics in order to achieve their self-interests. The research focused on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube which are commonly used by the political leaders around the world. The following thesis aimed to identify the techniques and methods of social media like fake news, disinformation, phishing email and fabrication and propaganda is used by international actors in international politics. The study will of significance for foreign policymakers and practitioners who strive to achieve the goals of a state in international politics vis a vis another state en_US
