Predictive LMS

Abstract

In 21st century almost all our daily activities involve mobile or web applications that makes the task easier. Whether schools, hospitals, research centers or offices we use these applications to help attain our objectives. Similarly in educational environments situation can come up in which face to face interactions between teacher and pupil may not be viable for example from past few months educational institutes are closed due to virus outbreak that has engulfed whole world. Education is most affected by this pandemic and universities have switched to online form of learning which includes Zoom meetings and Learning Management Systems that help teachers to take assignments and paper online. These systems have proved to be very much effective for both student and teacher, but it has some constraints that are having considerable effects on students’ performance. One of which is that during semester when students are engaged in their everyday routine and may not be aware of any assignment that is due on LMS, this results in failure of submitting on desired time and directly affect one’s grade. Moreover, students lose focus after end of term and may not be critical about new courses which affect their result. Majority of student does not comprehend their weaknesses because they have no idea what the new course is regarding and how knowing they are in that subject. Our system will benefit to get rid of these obstacles and provide ease for learners. It will enable them to meet deadlines without missing any submission as our system will notify them 24 hours before when their next assessment is due. One of the main things in our project, offers prediction for newly registered courses in order to assist student regarding courses that he/she needs to focus more based on his grades in relevant subject in previous semester. This system bridges communication gap between student and teacher by providing conversation module where student can enter his query and directly resolve his issue.
