Abstract:
The objective of this project lies in making of OQE (Optimized Query Engine). It has been observed that most organization all over the world cannot afford the high performing Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) like Microsoft® SQL Server™ and Oracle Corporation® ORACLE™. They primarily go for the file-based databases, which are low in cost and efficiently meet their requirements. The major draw back of file-based databases is their performance over huge raw data. So there is still a lot of work to be done in the field of optimization of file-based databases. Since without experimenting the whole idea over any pre-designed software using any file-based database will cost much, as well as being more time consuming and less reliable, so it has been decided that the pre-build product selection is mandatory. The project is primarily to be designed for optimization of an application (Visual Practice™), an application that has all its three tiers developed in MS FoxPro. The project is to develop a stand alone solution which caches the data from the database and can synchronize between all the users logged on to the network and maintain a proper data replication mechanism.
