dc.description.abstract This project report was prepared as a part final term project of Bachelors of Computer Sciences program and explains the need analysis and working of the customized software developed for an important department of CUSTOMS and DGI&I of Pakistan. This system is part of an MIS (Management Information System) .The system study took a lot of time and much emphasis was placed on the analysis phase, design phase and requirement gathering phase so as to allow the system to be compatible with modules that will be developed in future to enhance the functionality of the system. System's Functionality Customs intelligence is one of the departments that work under the Central Board of Revenue. This department collects information and intelligence about evasion of customs and Central Excise duties and sales Tax and smuggling of contraband, including narcotics. There are 14 collectorates of Customs, 20 offices of DGI&I and a head office. As each office handles its own data and that data is then sent to head office, our system is that each local office is connection to the Head office through web. The system deals with the following cases. • Narcotics, which includes all types of drugs • Smuggling of all kinds • Sales Tax • CED • Non Customs paid vehicles The System also generates Reports of the following types. • Case category wise reports. • Case type wise reports. • Station wise reports. en_US
