dc.description.abstract Since computer telephony and Speech is an advance and emerging technology so the purpose of the project is to replace the hard v,.ired answering machine with software embedded answering machine. The software is based on voice messaging using telephone line for communication. The result provided better services for the computer personals using modem for communication purposes. Voice modem is required for this to use this specific software. Software handles incoming calls after selected number of bells fixed by the user. Software facilitates the user to compose his/her reply, which is then played on telephone line before the caller record his/her message when computer handles incoming call due to non presence of the user. The caller can record a small message of time specified and limited by the user. Messages are recorded in form of WAV file and are run using self built player. The dialer is not necessarily to be attached with computer to use this system. en_US
