Abstract:
This study is based on the seismic interpretation of the Sinjhoro Block, which is located in the Sanghar district of the Lower Indus Basin. The primary goal of this study was to delineate subsurface structures favourable for hydrocarbon saturation and parameter analysis. Five seismic profiles were interpreted structurally. A detailed QC of the data was performed, a synthetic seismogram was generated, and the data was calibrated using well information. Within the Lower Goru Formation, two major horizons (Basal and Massive Sand) were identified and mapped using seismic lines provided. Structure maps (time and depth contour maps) were created, revealing the presence of normal faults and confirming the presence of horst and graben structures, which are considered suitable traps for hydrocarbons. Petrophysics analysis is being performed on well CHAK-66. Based on petrophysical analysis, a favourable zone was identified within massive Sand from 2993¬3018m depth. Petrophysical interpretation revealed that the zone contains 65% sand with an effective porosity of about 7% and 64% hydrocarbon saturation, indicating that it is a prospective zone. To confirm the extent of reservoir properties, a seismic attribute was used. The attributes of instantaneous frequency are used to identify lithological distribution and lateral discontinuities. The variance attribute is used to identify structural deformation, whereas the envelope attribute is used to mark the potential location of hydrocarbon presence. The hydrocarbon potential of CHAK 66-01 is calculated by analyzing the well logs' petrophysical data.
