| dc.description.abstract | Purpose: Nowadays companies across the globe focus on insinuations of management practice for maintaining quality aspects in achieving optimum efficiency and performance. The constantly changing environment and increased competition make it inevitable to transform themselves through Total Quality Management (TQM). Hence, this study is aiming at improving organizational performance through the implementation of a set of best performing TQM factors. Methodology & Design: Explanatory research type was used to examine the connection amid total quality management factors and organizational performance, particularly in the shipping industry via using the deductive approach to test the claims. The data was collected for one time period only therefore this research is cross-sectional in its tendency. A survey method was executed to gather the data from the shipping industry of Pakistan with a sample of 206. Correlation and regression analysis was used for identifying the influence of factors related to TQM on organizational performance. Findings: After the analysis ofthe congregated data, it has become evident that total quality management aspects including top management commitment as well as policy and strategy along with training and development, communication, and process management have a substantial influence on the performance ofshipping-related organizations. Implications: Researchers have welcomed the concept of TQM in the last few decades very warmly, particularly in developed countries while Pakistan and other developing countries did not pay much focus on this aspect of Management. So, therefore, shipping needs to put focus on the above-mentioned prospects to flourish in the competitive scenario. Thus, this study provides evidence to develop strategies for managers who are working in this setup to see how these factors can be implemented which in turn improves the organizational performance to its highest level. | en_US |
