Abstract:
Minwal block resides in the southeastern part of the Potwar sub-basin i.e., the area
under study. With reference to tectonics, the area lies in the compressional regime. The
Sakesar Limestone in this area is acting as a reservoir for hydrocarbons. Aiming to
determine the hydrocarbon potential of Sakesar Limestone, we utilized wireline log data
of two wells for reservoir rock analysis. Furthermore, for the representation of subsurface
structure of Minwal block, we used 2D seismic data. Afterwards, the well and the seismic
data were tied in order to pick reflectors on the seismic, which are displaced by frontal
and back thrust. Structure maps for the picked area were constructed, with respect to time
and depth. We observed the triangular structure from the depth structure map, oriented
from NW to SE.
