Abstract:
The document discusses the geology and tectonics of study area that lies in
Kadanwari fields which is a Horst and Graben structure. Geographically, this lies in
Tajjal area, Khairpur district, Sindh, Pakistan. Tectonically, the area lies in eastern
Jacobabad – Kirthar Horst of Lower Indus Basin Pakistan. The document focuses on
the 2D seismic interpretation of the study area to investigate for the petroleum system
and the structures capable of hydrocarbon accumulation with the help of available
seismic lines. The subsurface image of the area confirms and showsstructures of Horst
and Graben. The results are further elaborated in terms of time and depth maps of the
study area. The document also discusses the petrophysical analysis of the study area
on the basis of well log data available for Adiani-01 well drilled in that area. The
main focus of petrophysical analysis is the evaluation of the primary reservoirs in the
study area namely Lower Goru Formation and Sui Main Limestone of late Eocene age
in terms of three main reservoir characteristics namely characteristics i.e. porosity,
saturation of hydrocarbons and shale content of the reservoirs in the study area. The
whole interpretation is expressed in terms of graphs that depict good effective
porosity conditions, less shale content and considerable hydrocarbon saturation in that
area.
