| dc.description.abstract | Kohat Foredeep Basin lies to the south of Himalayan and Karakoram orogeny belt. Our study area is the Shakardara block which is present in the southern part of Kohat sub basin. Objectives of this research work were 2D seismic and petrophysical analysis of the area delineating the subsurface structure. Using the jump correlation technique, we were able to mark different reflectors on the Seismic sections which further helped in calculating the Time and depth of the required Formations. Using the time and depth, contour maps for Time and depth were generated on kingdom software to understand the structural style and geometries present in the study area. Domal structure was interpreted formed due to a Fore-thrust on the seismic sections. Petrophysical analysis of Chanda-02 well was carried out for reservoir evaluation. Datta Formation (clastic) and Samana Suk Formation (carbonate) are proposed as reservoir zones. | en_US |
