dc.description.abstract | Parking is becoming an issue worldwide irrespective of the developing or developed countries. In the recent years we have seen a significant increase in the number of cars on the road. The sales of automobiles went up significantly due to car financing and lease policies. But with the increase in the number of vehicles we didn’t see parking lots expanding. As a result, the parking spaces are shrinking that causes parking conflicts. Digitally managing the parking spaces can help to the avoid these parking conflicts for drivers and parking lot owners. A digitally manageable parking lot should have a digital blueprint in accordance with the real parking lot. Designing a parking lot is a technical process which needs multiple approvals and each revision costs money and time. This thesis proposes a digital parking system PARKiT based on two primary objectives. Firstly, help the drivers’ pre-book their parking spots completely digitally and have a flexible payment option including online payments and cash. Secondly provide companies a digital infrastructure of parking lot to manage their parking system through a mobile phone. This will provide a seamless parking booking experience with minimum conflicts. This system has a tendency to provide a costeffective solution for the parking operations. The system is capable to avoid duplicate bookings, payment frauds and This report provides detail of functional and nonfunctional aspects of the PARKiT application. It shows the features, interactions, and component level interaction of the system. The primary focus of the application is ease of use and digitising the parking operations. We intend to overcome the rush outside the parking lot of shopping malls and offices. Enable the companies who lack digital parking systems get a flexible application to create parking spots and manage their parking lot. | en_US |
