Abstract:
This research is about using Seismic interpretation and petrophysical analysis to identify the
subsurface structural analysis and hydrocarbon potential of the Meyal region. There were
three dip lines and two strike line in the data used in the research. For the petrophysical
investigation, the well log data was also retrieved. The horizon on the formation tops
designated Chorgali Formation and Sakesar Limestone were noted on the seismic data
interpretation, and faults were discovered. The research area's subsurface structures were
delineated using time, velocity, and depth contour maps. The study area's hydrocarbon
potential was assessed based on the results of a petrophysical examination of the Meyal 9P
well the hydrocarbon bearing zone, average hydrocarbon, and water saturation in the Meyal
9P well. The reflector was identified as Chorgali Formation, Sakesar Limestone, and
Lockhart Formation using seismic interpretation; this was then cross-checked with
petrophysical investigation, and the same conclusion was reached.
