Abstract:
This research paper focuses on implementing seismic interpretation and petrophysical
analysis to determine the Sinjhoro region's subsurface structural analysis and
hydrocarbon potential in Southern part of Lower Indus basin. The data used in the
study include three dip lines and two strike lines. The well log data was also acquired
as part of the petrophysical evaluation. On the seismic data interpretation, the horizon
on the formation tops labelled Lower Guru Formation, Basal sand, and Massive sand
was identified, and faults were discovered. Normal faults with horst and graben
structures were extremely obvious in the seismic interpretation, indicating that the area
has undergone deformation and is in the extensional regime. The subsurface structures
of the research region were identified using time, velocity, and depth contour maps.
Based on the results of a petrophysical analysis of the Chak 66-01 well, the
hydrocarbon bearing zone, average hydrocarbon, and water saturation, the
hydrocarbon potential of the study region was determined; this was then cross-checked
and the same conclusion was reached.
