Abstract:
The main objective of this study is to find the hydro carbon potential of
Balkasar Oxy 1 well, Upper Indus Basin Pakistan. About 105 kilometers southwest of
Islamabad, in the Chakwal District, is where you'll find this well. Balkassar is situated
in the Himalayan foreland fold-and-thrust belt's Potwar sub-basin. Its latitude is N 32°
55' 49.0008" and Longitude is E 72° 51' 20.0016". The OXY 1 well is drilled from
Pliocene to Precambrian. Tectonically Balkasar Oxy 1 well lies at the south of MBT
and north of SRT in Upper Indus basin. Sakesar limestone (Eocene) and Chorgali
formation (Eocene) are the proven reservoirs of Balkasar Oxy 1 well. To evaluate the
potential of these two reservoirs physical properties were calculated and analyzed
using petrophysical analysis. Log data in this study used Gamma ray log, Neutron
prosity log, Resistivity log, Caliper log, SP log. Five reservoir interval zones, three at
the level of Sakesar limestone and two at the Chorgali formation were marked.
