| dc.description.abstract | In this research study, the drinking water quality of Hassan Abdal was evaluated. The major sources of water samples were filtration plant water, ground water and water supply. The main goal of this research was to analyze and determine the biological and physicochemical parameters and arsenic concentrations of drinking water in Hassan Abdal. all of the samples were collected through standard protocols. Present results show that pH was beyond the WHO permissible limits in all samples with exceptions of samples from Mohalla Rehampura and Graveyard Hazara Road. In samples from Mohalla Rehampura Graveyard and Khawajanagar Darbar the TDS was exceeding permissible limits. Total Salts were high in all locations. Biological results showed that samples taken from Main Water Supply, Main Bazaar, Khwajanagar Darbar and Mohalla Miladnagar were highly contaminated by salmonella, shigella, e. coli and total coliform. The arsenic concentrations were undetected in all samples. Regular monitoring should be conducted by concerned authorities. The study concludes that groundwater and supply water quality parameters were found above permissible limit of WHO, so water in Hassan Abdal is not safe for direct consumption and needs proper mitigation regarding its quality. | en_US |
