Abstract:
Many of our daily interactions depend on being able to recognize one’s face. Modeling human recognition can be used in many fields: surveillance system, security system, autonomous navigation of vehicles and many more. Eigenspace-based face recognition is a very well known and successful face recognition paradigm. Different eigenspace-based approaches have been proposed for the recognition of faces. Among these approaches I used principal component analysis for this project. But most of the work has been done in the area of infrared images. Aim of my project is to use this technique on the mostly used images type which is visible image. Also current face recognition technologies are extremely computational intensive. So I have tried to minimize the amount of time taken by the system.
