| dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this research is to display how a Programmable logic controller(PLC) system is used for the improvement and efciency of fre tube boiler. Boiler is the most essential and major part of every industry and power plant. Due to its importance and major used in industries, it is necessary to automate it in order to get the efcient and proper working. Conventional ways to automate the boiler required human effort and labor. Due to lack of knowledge and other human errors, the boiler does not work with proper function and not provide the desire stream. These human error lead in failure of boiler and caused the accident and human life loss. To avoid these hazards, it necessary to automate with some logical processor. PLC provide the reliable monitoring system to the boiler. This project is about the control of gas burner management system for the boiler in order to get the desired pressure with the help of programmable logical controller. The frst phase of the project is forced on passing the input to the boiler at specifc temperature in order to the maintain the temperature of boiler. This is aided by the air preheater and economizer. From the properties of steam table, it necessary to maintain steam pressure at specifc temperature. In our design we implement the project with different sensors, like pressure sensor, water level sensor and etc. These sensors are controlled by PLC and provide the real time monitoring system and give the efcient output. For safety purpose we used an emergency switch in order to shut down the whole system. If the PLC controller does not stop the system at maximum pressure of steam, there is a manual safety switch at the top of boiler drum in order to avoid the explosion of boiler due to excess of steam stored in it. Alarm indication is also added to prevent the hazards. Mitsubishi company PLC is used for this automation of boiler as per our requirement of input and output ports. For PLC, the MELSOFT GX Developer software is used to build the ladder diagram of the boiler. | en_US |
