Abstract:
Migrated seismic section lines NP-84-21, NP-84-23, NP-84-24, and NP-84-25 of Khaur area
(North Potwar) were obtained from LMKR (Landmark Resources) with prior approval from
DGPC (Director General Petroleum Concessions) for carrying out this study.
Two reflectors were marked Chorgali and Sakesar in order to investigate geological structure
present in area. These reflectors are marked on basis of well tops. The well data of Khaur Oxy #
1 was used to confirm the reflectors depth. The discontinuities in the reflectors show thrust
faults. The faults bounded block form a pop up which is forming the Khaur anticline.
To see reflectors position time and depth sections were prepared. The pop up structure may act
as a trap for the hydrocarbon. Low velocity in structure shows presence of hydrocarbon.
