dc.description.abstract This application software is named as "Digital Spy" that is used to extract the license plate from an image and then automate the process of license plate recognition. Digital image processing techniques are used to identify the carss by their license plates. This teclmology is used in various security and traffic applications, such as the access control system featured. The aim of this project is not only to learn the basic digital image processing techniques and algorithms but also to implement those techniques. Digital Spy automates the license plate recognition of federal capital, Islamabad. The new number plates are used as a standard format for this system. A database is also used to maintain the information about the cars that will be processed by this system. IV en_US
