dc.description.abstract This project is about developing the Calling Card Billing System (CBS) that can be used by any Telecom Company in Pakistan. It is general purpose software that can be tailored easily according to the needs & requirements of the organization that purchases it. The first chapter gives us the over view of the software. Its introduction, what are its purposes, where it can be used etc. Second chapter is about the requirements and functions that the software should provide and the reports that should be generated. These requirements have been specified after a survey which involved different telecom companies. In the third chapter the design of the software is explained in detail. Both its back-end and front-end is explained. The flow of information is shown by different Entity Relation Diagrams. Logical Mapping is also given. Steps of normalization are also explained. Fourth chapter gives us the detail of the software and hard-ware that are used for developing and running this system in any organization. Reasons for using Oracle and JSP are discussed in detail. Minimum hard ware requirements for this system are also discussed in this chapter. In fifth chapter different implementation styles and testing styles are given and the reason for selecting a particular implementation style and testing styles are also given. In addition some test cases are also displayed in this chapter. Evaluation of the CBS is done in detail in the sixth chapter. Future enhancements for this system are also mentioned in this chapter six. In the end there is a user manual, which thoroughly explains the front-end of the system. All the fields of each web page are explained thoroughly. As it is a technical system and its hard for a lay man to understand the technical terms so an explanation of each technical term is also given in the end. en_US
