dc.description.abstract The Siprox system is a versatile and extensible platform that provides specialised messaging services based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). Siprox comprises a scalable and fault-tolerant architecture based on low cost, commodity hardware components (standard PCs, standard Ethernet). The system is intended for Application Service Providers (ASPs) who ·wish to provide messaging services. Companies that are considering converging voice and data services onto a single IP network can use Siprox, either through an ASP, or by installing a locally managed Siprox system, scaled appropriately. New nodes can be added to cater for more users and increased load. Addition of nodes requires minimal configuration and does not require downtime. en_US
