dc.description.abstract Intelligent Character Processing System is a software system based on Identification and Recognition of handwritten alpha characters from the image, which is grabbed from the sca1mer of any type. The basic purpose of the system is to replace manual record keeping. The system capture, store, retrieve, display, process, distribute, and manage documents. The image of the user form is captured with the help of a scanner and then the system extracts the handwritten characters from that image and then stores it into a database, thus reducing the overhead of manual data entry. It is basically a research project and R&D is taking place all around the institutions of research. It is a step forward in trying to enhance the computer intelligence in that field. The purpose of the project is to complete the automation of the systems that are computer based and take the advantage of the computer speed and facilities. This system can be used in areas such as Census, Fonns processing, Law Cases and Questioners Processing etc to enhance the data entry process. en_US
