| dc.description.abstract | The current study aimed to investigate the relationship between pornography consumption and self-compassion furthermore, it explores the role of religiosity the relationship between pornography consumption with self-compassion among youth. Data was collected from 400 college and university students (N=400) from various institutions in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Pornography consumption was measured through the Problematic Pornography consumption scale (PPCS-6) (Bothe, 2020), Role of Religiosity was measured through The Centrality of Religiosity Scale (CRS-10) (Huber,2009) and Self-Compassion was measured by Self-Compassion Short Form (SC-SF) by (Neff,2003). The hypotheses in this study included There is a relationship between pornography consumption, selfcompassion, and religiosity among youth, Religiosity mediates the relationship between pornography consumption and self-compassion among youth and Male consume pornography more frequently than females were tested using Pearson correlation, T-test, regression, chi-square, and mediation analysis through SPSS version 7.0. Results indicated a significant correlation between pornography consumption, self-compassion and role of Religiosity. Religiosity plays the role of mediator in between the relationship of pornography consumption with self-compassion among youth. The implications of this study help clinicians and psychotherapists better understand what factors are driving the behavior of viewing pornography frequently. | en_US |
