The present study was aimed to check the level of trust due to the intimate relationship violence(IPV) among the married females. In Pakistan, violence appeared in different forms, which, ranged from shouting to the use of weapons, including nonconsensual sex and only 3.2% women did report any type of domestic violence. In rural Pakistan, the prevalence of physical abuse against women was 56% while in urban settings, the lifetime prevalence of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse was 57.6%, 54.5%, and 83.6% respectively. It was primary research in which quantitative method design was utilized. The sample of the proposed study was consisted of 411 participants (N = 411), married females who are currently in relationship. Data was collected through convenience sampling. “Psychological victimization scale” was used to measure intimate psychological violence(IPV), “the trust scale” was used to measure trust and “Young maladaptive schema scale” was used to measure maladaptive schemas. Significant results were shown among intimate psychological violence(IPV), maladaptive schemas and trust. When intimate psychological violence(IPV) will increase the trust will automatically decrease, maladaptive schemas increase the psychological violence will increase and trust will decrease. |
