dc.description.abstract The present study aimed to translate and linguistically validate the Midlife challenges scale (Roozbehani & Dekhordi, 2018) into Urdu language for Pakistani culture. The construct of midlife challenges has been studied across various cultures, but it has not been translated and validated across several populations and languages. In Phase I of this research study, Urdu translation of the Midlife Challenges scale was carried out by using the standardized forward-backward translation procedure (Mapi, 2008). However, in phase II, validation of this scale was determined by yielding the confirmatory factor analysis. For the empirical evaluation, a sample of 400 individuals (234 males and 166 females) (M= 6.7, SD= 1.01) including married and working men and women with age range (35-50) years were recruited. The psychometric evolution of the Midlife Challenges scale turned in to good reliability and validity estimates when conducted the second-order Confirmatory factor analysis. The results were reliable and valid. The findings showed that the Urdu version of the Midlife Challenges scale has good psychometric properties, is linguistically and culturally acceptable, and can be used as a measure of midlife crisis among the middle adults in Pakistani cultural context and it will pave the way for researchers to make research available of measuring the construct of midlife crisis indigenously. en_US
