File Anywhere (a Web Based File Sharing Software)

Abstract

The project is a complex client/server development that is designed to meet the needs of a file sharing software in web based environment. The project has undertaken all search abilities and sharing searched files to any online user. It evolved the setup of a server which can hear to any request from a user, then process it by doing searching, and when required file found it connect the user with that client to download the file. In this way the server remains free and can process many other requests. Adding XML database index has enhanced the standard implementation of server. In this way server is not concerned with the space problem, and it only got index of files available at all clients, which takes only few MB of size. The database used is XML that is a new technology, with .NET framework. For web designing ASP.NET is used with VB.NET for scripting purposes.
