Abstract

bitForge is the design and impiementation of bitmap manipulation software. Ranges of 1mage processmg techniques most commonly used arc implemented. The vanous techniques studied during the research were with gray scale images as examples. A further step has been tak en as the so ftw are man ipulates images in RGB color scheme. This program manipulates bitmaps only. Moi-co,·cr, the aims of project arc met adequately using bitmap manipuiation oniy. Once the implementation has been done for bitmaps, it can be extended to co,·cr other formats also. Digital Image Processing is a large field . For this project, however, it is tried to cover a r~ngc of topics dealing ,,·ith gray scale images in particular and images in general. The usc of various techniques of image processing and their implementation and analysis has been the bedrock of this project.
