Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to investigate acculturative stress, academic well-being and religious coping among international students in Islamabad. In this study first of all College Student Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire (CSSWQ) was adapted and validated for university students. Then a sample of 284 students from different public and private universities was taken. Before administering the quantitative instruments, consent was taken and socio demographic data about the participants were gathered through a Socio- Demographic Information Form. Then quantitative data collected by administering closedended, self-report questionnaires, Acculturative Stress Scale for International Students (ASSIS), University Student Subjective Wellbeing Questionnaire (USSWQ) and Brief RCOPE. The results of the present study identified that acculturative stress have significant association with religious coping. The findings also suggested that religious coping (including positive and negative religious coping) moderates the relationship between acculturative stress and academic well-being. Moreover, no significant differences between males and females were observed among study variables.
