dc.description.abstract In the last decade, Technological advancement and the development in communication means, has lead to a "digital revolution" at a pace beyond expectations. The most profound effect of which has been the change in perception of what all can be an "Asset". Organizations the world over, have encountered a sudden rush of newly recognized "digital assets" which include documents and media files alike. Companies are realizing the value of their intellectual assets, and waking up to the notion of using and re-using them to gain on revenue while saving time and increasing efficiency. The challenges thus brought forward, their attempted and practiced solutions, and technologies at the play to bring forth the solution, are discussed in this report. The focus is on Digital Asset Management Systems, specifically the sub domain of Digital Media Asset Management, and its role in the future of broadcast and communication sector. en_US
