dc.description.abstract This report highlight the various steps carried out in the development of 'GPS Car Tracker'. This report can also serve as a guide for the users. In addition, it includes infom1ation to help in future extensions of the system. GPS Car Tracker is application software. The main objective of this system is to facilitate the users to see the map of Islamabad/Rawalpindi then point out the user's current location with the help of a GPS. Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 will be used for development of software. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a hardware devise which is actually a constellation of 27 Earth-orbiting satellites (24 in operation and three extras in case one fails). The U.S. military developed and implemented this satellite network as a military navigation system, but soon opened it up to common man. The system will mainly be able to provide the following facilities:- • Map oflslamabad/Rawalpindi. • Track of traveled path. • Direction, Speed and Time. The users of this system will be able to locate themselves easily on the Islamabad/Rawalpindi map and determine the suitable path for their destination. vii en_US
