Abstract

MCQ is a customized online examination and testing solution aimed at serving teachers, lecturers and professors as a tool to interact with their students without direct interaction. The purpose of application is assessment and quantification of the students' knowledge in particular subjects or courses. A teacher may be imparting courses at different times during a week, which may be further allocated to different locations even during a day, in such circumstances quality of test taking can get compromised if the test or quiz session is hurried or not organized appropriately. To tackle such time time-constrained situation as well as test ones students MCQ facilitates a system for the teacher to prepare tests for the students at ease with the required dedication for such a task as well as post them on the MCQ web to allow students to respectively access the test questions and appear in the test. The students with their authorized accounts then appear in the test in their respective courses and are assessed immediately. The efficient environment of MySQL and PHP using a two-tier client/server structure, which makes up for the design needed to accomplish this solution and its application, further strengthens this process.
