Abstract

This Software is Drug Index for doctors, which helps them to select a proper medication for the patient keeping in mind drugs efficacy and affordability. Visual Basic 6, ActiveX Data Objects and OLEDB are used in the development of Project. Microsoft Access is at backend, which allows person to enter the Drug information without working in Access. Software provides a user friendly Interface, like Window explorer, which allows operator to enter drug information easily. Several forms have been developed in which user can add, update, delete, and refresh a record and also easy navigation through record is implemented. Apart from entering drug information, user can also search for a certain record. Software allo~s user to print the records retrieved in a report format. Search section is implemented in such a way that if a person is unaware of the exact name of the Drug, Manufacturer, or drugs Generic Name, one can still get the information. Software also provide report generation facility, for example, one can generate reports regarding products of different Manufacturers, like their names, trade Price, retail price etc. Report can be saved as HTML and Text format, and can also be printed. Software contains complete information about importer/exporters of drug in Pakistan.
