Moving Vehicle Number Plate Recognition System (Neural Networks)

Abstract

Moving Vehicle Number Plate Recognition System (MVNPR) is application software that automatically extracts the license plate from moving vehicle and then automates the process of recognition. Number Plate Recognition is an image-processing technology used to identify vehicles by their license plates. This technology is used in various security and traffic applications We choose this project to automate the license number plates of Sindh, N.W.F.P. and Baluchistan. We are also maintaining the databases, which contains the information about the vehicles. Search facility is also provided to check weather the intended vehicle has passes or not. The software can run in automatic as well as manual mode. In automatic mode the license plates are recognized automatically from a video file. In manual mode the user can manually take the snap of the vehicle which is then recognized by the software. There are some silent features of our project. • Frame capturing from the movie. • Locate the number plate are in the picture. • Recognized the characters on the plates. • Information of the vehicle is saved in the data bases. • It provides the security only verified person can see the information.
