dc.description.abstract The world is going towards enhancements in the technologies and every one wants· to have more facilities in every field. In the computer world if we look back a few years we will see a world of difference between the features we have and the features we had a couple of decade before. The Internet has evolved from a computer . science research experiment in the early 1970's to a primary means for academic, commercial, and civic discourse. Through a computer with a network connection, one can access thousands of resources around the world -- library catalogs, campus information systems, directories, and databases etc. Teachers and students can share information with one another electronically via e-mail, list servers, discussion groups, and bulletin boards. The Internet began in the late 1960's as a network of computers that the United States Department of Defense developed, using communication technology that could continue to function even when it was partially damaged. The Internet started . ' in 1969 with four hosts: the University of California at Los Angeles, the Stanford Research Institute, the University of California at Santa Barbara, and the University of Utah. A major impact on the Internet was due in 1993. Mosaic (browser) was released by the University of Illinois and in late 1994 improves the varia.tions of Mosaic, and thus released it as Netscape. Web makes easy for anyone to browse, roam, and make contributions, as well as transferring of multimedia--including sound and video. Most of the educational institutions, government agencies, commercial companies, and other organizations around the world are moving into the World Wide Web. The application on which I have worked is actually a web-based application. To give the proposal is about to give a facility to the user to access the MS SQL Server remotely. As we know it is about the creating databases, creating users, assigning and revoking privileges to them, making changes in the databases lik~ inserting data in the database tables, the major tasks about DBA are taking backup of database, restoring the databases. The application actually a web interface of MS SQL Server or u can say accessing the SQL Server remotely. SQL Server has a lot of features and this application will fulfill some necessary of them. The application is a demand application and the requirements will be fulfilled. en_US
