Controlling Home Appliances Over Web (Software & Web Connectivity)

Abstract

An automated house over internet is desired. For that, an interface has been developed to connect on the IBM PC/XT compatible bus, to provide a means to control devices through digital and analogue inputs and outputs. Appliances Control, Video Camera, Perform Position Control over the web. For this purpose digital and analogue input, outputs are handled. The hardware module developed uses two PPis (8255) and A/D, D/A converters etc. The hardware control programs were written in the C Language (Unix ) and a Client Listener module also in C language (Unix) to communicate with web interface, while the I/0 from the keyboard and the monitor was handled using the HTML and Macromedia Flash by providing a nearly real time interface to access over internet
