dc.description.abstract A streaming media server provides media service to the client. It delivers the streaming media data to the client, and the client can start playing the audio or video while it is downloading. Compared to the streaming with web sever, which uses HTTP protocol and TCP link to send media data, a streaming media server can send the streaming data over UDP. As we all know, for loss-tolerative and delay-sensitive live media data, the fast, lightweight UDP protocol has its advantage. The goal of this project is to implement a Streaming media server. This server can establish an encrypted TCP connection with the client by handshaking, exchange the streaming link information, and send the streaming media data to the client using RTP protocol. en_US
