dc.description.abstract Voice communication is the most important, convenient and natural one among the several modes used to communicate by humans. The conventional telephony, though efficient but expensive at the same time, creates a scope for the packet switchcll telephony to come into action which on the contrary operates by sharing the available network resources. However the limited bandwidth available to the dial-up users inflicts a limitation on the free flow of digitized voice data through the Internet. This project aims to provide to such users, a convenient voice conversation capability, with no respect to the available Internet speed. The VoiP technology is used and implemented to achieve the desired goals. The document covers the motivations, planning, design and implementation of the project en_US
