Voice Optimized Messaging System An All-Voice Interface for Dial-up Internet Users

Abstract

Voice communication is the most important, convenient anJ natural one among the several modes used to communicate by humans. The conventional telephony, though eflicient but expensive at the same time, creates a scope for the packet switched telephony to come into action which on the contrary operates by sharing the available network resources. However the limited bandwidth available to the dial-up users inflicts a limitation on the free !low of digitized voice data through the Internet. This project aims to provide to such users, a convenient voice conversation capability, with no respect to the available Internet speed. The VoiP technology is used and implemented to achieve the desired goals. The document covers the motivations, planning, design and implementation of the project.
