Letter of Credit System of PTV

Abstract

PTV is a public limited company. It was registered under the companies' ordinance act 1913 and later on it was register on company ordinance in 1984. It is control by the government of Pakistan. Government holds the 1 00% shares. The computer department consists of two Pentium machines with an ink jet printer. There was no licensed software by the firm has now the licensed of ORACLE. The detail of the stock imported by the firm is maintained in this register. The important fields are Supplier name, LC no, LC date, LC amount, LC validity, vessel, Beneficiary ID, center ID. This information is recorded in the system and source of this system is invoice issued by the supplier along with the stock issue note. The firm saved information about distribution of equipment to different centers in this register. It contains information like LC no, Center ID, debit note, Account ID sub, and etc. From this register we can know about what equipment is send to which center on what date and against what LC no. Invoices are issued by the suppliers to the firm and are based on the equipment imported. It contains information about LC no, center ID, account main, account sub, and etc. Payments are made to the supplier and bank through bank vouchers. It also contains information about different expenses. It is composed of LC no, bank voucher no, bank voucher date, account ID main, account ID sub etc. When equipment is imported and sends to different centers, then information about the cost is contained in the debit note because account of all centers about equipment imported is maintained in head office. Oracle Developer is used as a tool for developing the proposed system. I choose this tool because database model used for the propose system is a relational database model and Oracle Developer is truly relational, because it supports multiple database tables.PL/SQL is used for back end.
