Abstract:
This thesis was prepared as a part final term project of Master in Computer. Sciences program and explains the need analysis and working of the Management Information System (MIS) developed for Pakistan Revenue Automation Ltd. (PRAL). The system is part of an MIS that can be integrated with Payroll, Leave Management system etc. The system study took a lot of time and much emphasis was placed on the analysis phase so as to allow the system to be compatible with the modules that will be developed in future to enhance the function orality of the system. The system consists of the following sub-systems • Employee information system It is an MIS that contains the information about the employees, the on-going projects, the ProJet statistics (the project start date, projected end date etc.). This is also integrated with an on I fine system developed using Active Server Pages to view critical information that facilitates the decision making process. • Employee Attendance (Bar code Card Accessibility) This system was developed with the intent of automation of the attendance system of Pakistan Revenue Automation Ltd. (PRAL). This is also integrated with an online module that allows the remote monitoring of the attendance. • Employee Activity Planner This is a very useful utility for the employees of Pakistan Revenue Automation Ltd. (PRAL). This allows the employees to keep track of their daily schedule and their meetings etc. they can also use this for planning their activities well ahead of time.
