dc.description.abstract This research is a qualitative study which aims to explore the role of Ehsaas Program in expanding Human Capabilities by analyzing the impact of the Ehsaas Cash Transfers on the subjective wellbeing of its beneficiaries. The human capability chosen for this study is Play, coined by Martha Nussbaum, comprising the ability to take up leisure activities, laugh and enjoy. The locale of this research was Lohi Bher, and Sihala, both of which are situated in Islamabad. Qualitative data collection tools such as semi-structured interview guides and in depth interviews were used for collecting data for the research, and the data collected was then analyzed using the thematic analysis model. The findings of this research revealed that while Ehsaas Cash transfers had notable impact in helping beneficiaries meet their regular household expenses, the cash transfer amount was deemed insufficient to allow beneficiaries to improve their subjective well-being. This study, therefore, studies the impact of cash transfers on the ability of individuals to partake in leisure pursuits, which in turn inform their subjective wellbeing. In addition, the research also suggests necessary changes that need to be implemented for the Ehsaas cash transfer to have a more profound impact on the subjective wellbeing of its beneficiaries. en_US
