EFFECTS OF RISK FACTORS ON THE SUCCESS OF IT PROJECTS IN LAHORE"

Abstract

In this research, an investigation has been carried out to examine the relationship between risk factors and IT project successes. The study conducted is the view of effects of risk on the success of IT projects in Lahore. It is analyzed that there are different types of risks which can affect the project performance such as user risk, requirement risk, project complexity ad project planning and control. It is also analyzed that some risks have negative effects with the project success while some risks have positive effects with the project success. Theoretical framework has been developed, focusing independent and dependent variable. Data gathered from project managers and project teams from the IT sector of Lahore and after the data analysis, it was concluded that risk factor (user risk, requirement risk and project complexity) has negative effects with the project success. Risk factor project planning and control has positive effects with the project success, but this factor is not significant within the context of Lahore region
