INFLUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT PERFORMANCE INDICATORS ON PROJECT SUCCESS MODERATING ROLE OF PANDEMIC COVID-19 AND PROJECT EVALUATION MANAGEMENT

Abstract

Project success is most important variable in construction sector and different studies have been made to measure it and to check the effect of different factors on it. This study has selected three important factors as human resources factors, communication factors and supply chain factors to study their relationship with project success. Due to high disturbance of Pandemic covid-19, this study has considered that moderating effect of Pandemic Covid-19 and Project Evaluation Management which is monitoring and controlling technique in projects. The effect of that three variables is studied in the presence of these two moderators independently. The findings suggest that these three factors have significant effect on project success, but covid-19 negatively moderate their relationship and at the same time Project evaluation management moderate positively. A quantitative research strategy is used to collect primary data from the 250 project managers working in construction firms of Punjab, Pakistan. A questionnaire survey used to collect data and the collected data is analyzed by performing tests of reliability, validity, correlation and multiple regression analysis in SPSS software, and moderation effect is studied by using Hayes Process Macro. By analyzing, it concluded that communication factors, Supply chain factors and Human Resource factors have significant effect on the success of project. This study has selected Pandemic Covid-19 and Project Evaluation Management as a moderator. The results concludes that both moderators, significantly moderates the effect of Human Resource Factors, Supply Chain Factors and Communication Factors on Project Success. As all the industries are disturbed due to covid-19, this study has highlighted the importance of human resources factors, supply chain factors and communication factors for construction industry. Findings of this study will be helpful for the practitioners to minimize the effect of Pandemic covid-19 by adopting proper project evaluation management techniques.
