dc.description.abstract Purpose: Good posture is the state of muscular and skeletal balance which protects the supporting structures of body against any injury. Poor posture is the faulty association of various parts of body with tension and overuse. The purpose of the study is to determine the postural dysfunction / faulty posture and their associated elements among house officers of Dow University of health sciences, Karachi, Pakistan. Methodology & Design: In Dow University, I observed 300 postures through posture analysis form among house officers to collect data and the data will analyze through SPSS. I distributed informed consent to everyone to obtain permission before performing our research procedure. Postural examination includes a general physical evaluation and a postural assessment through plumb line test. The duration of this research is 6 months and it start from Feb 2021. I checked six common faulty postures of each participant (kyphosis, scoliosis, lordosis, forward head posture, uneven shoulder height, back muscles hump) and recorded all this data on the SPSS version 22. Sample Size: The sample size was calculated through OpenEpi software version 3. Taken for this study is 300. Findings: The most frequently observed faulty postures was forward head postures 83.7, followed by lordosis32% and most uncommon faulty posture was scoliosis. To determine association between faulty postures and working hours I used chi-square test. For forward head posture p value is 0.05 which is not greater the alpha so, concluded that there is statistically significant association between forward head posture and working hours. Lordosis (0.00), kyphosis (0.0) and scoliosis (0.517) through these p-values were greater than alpha which mean there were no statistically significant association between working hours and these faulty postures and working hours. Uneven shoulder height p-value is 0.002 which show that there is significant association between uneven shoulder height and working hours.Implications: The medical clinic should Share the modern and important data about COVID-19 side effects and sickness avoidance proposals among the emergency clinic representatives.
