dc.description.abstract This research analyzes the importance of pandemic preparedness in medical education and the problems faced by healthcare professionals due to the lack of preparedness. It is a qualitative study based on in-depth interviews of 7 Medical Officers and 7 House officers. The interviews have been conducted with the help of semi-structured interviews. The research has been done in Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Rawalpindi. After collecting the data, it was analyzed and interpreted with the help of thematic analysis. The thesis is divided into six chapters. The findings revealed that the healthcare system of Pakistan is not strong enough to handle any crisis. It does not simply have the resources which are important for emergencies. Moreover, it was seen that the medical staff was not given proper training and was not taught to handle a pandemic. More research is required to study pandemic preparedness and make it a part of medical education especially in a developing country like Pakistan en_US
