dc.description.abstract | Car maintenance and diagnostics have become an integral part of the automotive industry in urban societies. Although the industry is quite old, the challenges faced in this flourishing industry require smart solutions on how to serve both the producer and the consumer. This can be done by bridging the gap between the service provider and the customer and by adding transparency to the equation. Also, the fraud in buying and selling cars has been on the rise and under the radar at the same time. This IoT (Internet Of Things) based project presents a Three-Tier application that takes multiple services and combines them into one cross-platform application. It provides smart logs of car maintenance and reminds the user regarding the maintenance requirements of the car beforehand to ensure on-time maintenance of the vehicle which results in smoothness in the running of the car and increases car longevity at the same time. By connecting the application to the car using an OBD-II scanner, the car’s problems can be pointed out before taking it to a workshop to get it fixed, resulting in the ease of diagnosis and increase in awareness of the user regarding the problem in their car. At the time of buying and selling of that car, the buyers can use our cloud-based verification system to ensure if the seller is selling the car with accurate information, hence, preventing odometer forgery fraud. | en_US |
