dc.description.abstract The goal of the research was to investigate the relationship between fleet management and retail logistics. The paper's goal is to reduce the logistical expenses of the “secondary distribution network of the retail supply chain” to the greatest extent possible. In the field of logistics management, transportation plays a crucial role. In order to move commodities, it is extremely dependent on the efficiency of the transportation network. A modern fleet management system's ability to optimize transportation logistics for personnel, products, and materials was tested in this study to determine whether it is a good investment. The utilization of cutting-edge technologies and best practices is crucial in today's competitive market in order to “ensure sound logistical support” for transportation procedures that are both efficient and successful. This study investigates the significance of transportation in retail logistics, as well as the numerous expenditures that are associated with it. It is possible to obtain improved distribution systems through the use of load planning and network optimization techniques to the distribution network. This research explores a wide range of issues and makes recommendations for methods to reduce transportation costs as part of the attempt to boost contribution margin. The focus of this study is on a B2C (business-to-consumer) distribution infrastructure. An overall conclusion is reached, as is an outline of future research proposals to follow up on the findings. The retail industry in Pakistan must constantly update and improve its fleet, master distribution channels, and employ cutting-edge fleet management practices if it is to achieve long-term success. en_US
