dc.description.abstract This study is to investigate the impact of HR practices on employee retention with mediating effect of job satisfaction in healthcare sector of Islamabad. In this study, the prime objective has been to investigate the relationship between HR practices (independent variable), job satisfaction (mediating variable), and employee retention (dependent variable) in healthcare sector of Islamabad. To prove the relationship between HR practices, job satisfaction and employee retention, a structured questionnaire has been adopted and used to collect data from the employees working in healthcare sector of Islamabad. Based on the data collected from the respondents through structured questionnaire, several statistical tests were applied. Results of those statistical tests have clearly indicated that there exists a significant relationship between HR practices, job satisfaction and employee retention. Some statistical instruments such as descriptive frequencies, reliability, correlation, regression, ANOVA, and coefficients were used by the researcher to conduct this study. Finally, it can be said that HR practices and job satisfaction tend to have a significant positive impact on employee retention, and job satisfaction tend to positively impact employee retention in healthcare sector of Islamabad. However, it has been proved that job satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between HR practices and employee retention in healthcare sector of Islamabad. en_US
