Abstract:
Purpose
Mam purpose of the study is to examine the mediating role of self-transcendence betw
servant leadership (Independent variable) and employees' helping behavior (Dependent
variable) in service industry.
Methodology & Design

The nature ofstudy is quantitative. A well-designed questionnaire was used as research tool
for the gathering of the data. The data analysis was done through structural equation
modeling using Smart-PLS as software. Data was collected from 224 employees in
Pakistan’s service industry.
Findings
The finding of data reveals that the servant leadership have positively effect
transcendence and employee helping behavior. Self-transcendence was found to be mediating
between servant leadership and employee helping behavior. All hypothesis of this study is
accepted and shows the positive effect.
Limitations
on self Limitations of the study are limited sample size, and this research is done only in Karachi,
Pakistan. The data is collected only by the current employees of the service industry and
limited variables are used in the model.
Recommendations
Accordmg to the findings of the research, servant leadership positively affects the'employee
helping behavior m service industry. Organizations should provide trainings, session and
workshops on servant leadership and self-transcendence traits, they should also introduce
proper structured training programs and job rotation to increase the knowledge and exposure
oftheir employees so that they can perform at their best.
