dc.description.abstract Purpose- In today’s competitive world in order to be successful organizations must have committed workforce which is dedicated in doing work and who voluntarily work for the organizations without expecting any monetary reward. The study is intended to analyse the effect of POS and ED on organizational citizenship behaviour with the mediating variable organizational commitment. This research also studies the relation between employee development, POS and OC. Methodology & Design- The primary data is collected through survey approach from the employees working in different industries in Karachi. 384 questionnaires were circulated and 320 were received out of which 293 were utilized for further analysis. For testing the hypothesis structural equation modeling was used. Findings- Study results showed a significant positive relation amid POS, ED and OCB. The results showed a positive significant relation amid POS, employee development and organizational commitment. The results also showed that organizational commitment mediate the relation amid POS, ED and OCB. Limitations - There were time and geographical constraints. Data collection was done from employees working in Karachi only and due to this the data is not from population of various cities due to which study findings cannot be generalized to other cities. Recommendations - The study findings can be used by the managers and the policy makers in developing growth and support programs for employees which will lead to increase commitment. The organizations can use the study results for maximizing both organizational and employee productivity. en_US
